PptPlex changing the way you present
*****added links *****
Everyone as been going on about PptPlex since they saw it at the company conference last week and I’ve really been looking forward to playing with it but today is the first chance I’ve actually been able to sit down, install it and have a play with it.
PptPlex is an addon to PowerPoint that fundamentally changes the way you can deliver presentations – instead of hopping about trying to find the slide with the graph on to highlight your points, PptPlex allows you to view the whole deck in a sort of mind map view.
Here’s a PptPlex view of the presentation I delivered yesterday at the Women in Games conference. I’ve added section dividers to the slide deck and moved slides into the relevant sections. you can see the white dividing slides section off my deck here with the PptPlex tab highlighted in the ribbon:
You choose a background for the Plex, insert sections and then deliver your slideshow either from the overview slide (see the top diagram above), or from the first slide in your presentation.
You can see the actual slides embedded into the schematic so you can hop about your presentation logically, zoom in and out and move backwards and forwards through each part of the deck.
Doing all of these screen grabs doesn’t really do this justice – as it’s much more dynamic and engaging when you see the presentation in real life so I’d really recommend that you downloaded the addon, look at the videos explaining how it works and wow and amaze your colleagues who will be expecting the usual “Death by Powerpoint” session
I liked this straight away as I love to depart from the slides occasionally when questions are raised so I found this to be a great new way to deliver sessions. But let me know what you think of it?
